Professionals’ workshop facilitators need to meet these requirements before coming on the train-the-trainer course:
Understand and support the importance of young people’s voice and influence in planning services that meet their needs
Have minimum 2 years of experience of working directly with young people who use self-harm (this does not need to be in a clinical or mental health specialist capacity, or in a targeted mental health service)
Have minimum 2 years of experience of delivering training to professionals
Be confident in holding safe space for trainees when topics are difficult or sensitive
Be familiar with safe-guarding children procedures and processes
-
It is important that you use your training and the workshop materials in the way intended and that you are accountable to us at Fullscope for your delivery. This is set out in an agreement which every trainer signs at the in-person session. You can see the agreement here.
-
We support a community of practice that meets online every two months for trainers to stay up to date, share experiences, refresh their skills and troubleshoot challenges together.
The Trainer Network is for everyone who has completed the training to deliver the "Ask Me How I Am" Understanding Self-Harm workshop for professionals working with young people.
These sessions are an opportunity to:
Hear about new resources and developments
Refresh key elements of the training
Share ideas and experiences with other trainers
Ask questions and troubleshoot any challenges
Connect with fellow trainers

The train-the-trainer course for facilitators of AMHIA professionals’ workshops involve trainees watching three videos to cover some core information and learning about delivering the workshops, before coming to an in-person half day course. You are welcome to watch the videos more than once or come back to them whenever you choose, but please ensure you have watched them at least once before the in-person half day.
All the materials you need for the in-person session will be available there. Once you have completed the in-person session you will be asked to complete a facilitator agreement [link to the agreement] which sets out your commitment to deliver the workshop within certain parameters. After this is completed, you will be sent all of the workshop materials and you are ready to deliver the workshop as part of our trainer network.
